Q: I heard that in order to drift easier, you need to over inflate the tires. Is that true? A; Yes, I usually inflate my rear tires to 56.9 psi when the track is dry. When its raining, I set it to 35.6 psi. In the front, I set it at 34.1psi. In the summer, I lower it a bit and in the winter, I raise it a bit. Q: What basic parts do you need to start drifting? A: At the very least, you would need a LSD (Limited Slip Differential) and decent suspension. WIth just those parts, you can start Drifting. Q: Whats the easiest technique for drifting? A: I guess, it would be to press the clutch, turn the steering wheel to about 80% of the fullest, then rev it up to about 6000rpm for about 3 seconds then release the clutch at once and press the accelerator. Q: Is there a difference between a 1-way LSD and a 2-way LSD? A: Yes, a 1-way LSD will only work when the accelerator is depressed. A 2-way will work all the time. Q: How much power do you need to drift? A: With the above mentioned basic parts, you can start drifting with a normally powered car. But its easier to drift with a 300HP car. Q: What is E-Braking? A: It's hard to explain since there are a lot of way to drift using the E-Brake. Simply put, you turn the steering wheel, kick the clutch, pull the e-brake and press the accelerator and you will start drifting. Q: How long does it take to learn drifting? A: You can learn basic drifting in 1 day, while to get to the expert levels will take many years. |
