"Slim Ballasts" seems appealing becuase
you would think its smaller, but in fact, they are just a bit smaller than our ballasts,
BUT the major difference is that most slim ballasts, require a seperate "ignitor
box" as shown below. These are the cheap plastic box you see next to the actual
ballast. This will make more clutter and be less reliable due to the non-waterproof
case. And as the name says "slim", that is all it is. the ballast is
a bit slimmer, and the overall length and wide is about the same. Plus, it costs
more. Why would you want to pay more for a inferior design?
